Rhinoplasty for the nose

Nasal re-sculpting surgery is performed to improve the appearance of the nose in order to achieve a better harmony and balance of facial features.

A well-proportioned nose draws more attention to the eyes and face overall. Surgery usually lasts one to two hours, and is done under general anaesthesia.

While you will see a result within two weeks, healing is a gradual process. The skin must be given time to shrink and adjust to its new framework. How well this is accomplished largely depends on each patient’s healing ability. Nasal tip re-contouring can take up to 12 months to settle, depending on your skin type.

Even for patients with delicate skin, the tip of the nose will always take longer to settle into its new contour than the upper part. Swelling and bruising around the eyes (black eyes) may be present temporarily, but usually clears within ten days.
