 All of us want to look as pleasing as we can. However, as we age, lines and wrinkles are a common natural appearances on the forehead because of the constant movement of muscles and other factors. Good thing science and medical technologies are continuously developing breakthroughs in the field of wellness and surgical procedures. One of these is the brow lift or forehead lift.

What is a Brow Lift?

 A brow lift, also known as forehead lift or browplasty, is a cosmetic surgery administered to raise a dropping eyebrow that may affect vision. In this procedure, lines on the forehead which often gives an unintended meaning such as anger, fatigue, and worry will be removed.

A brow lift invert the effects of gravity and make tighter the soft tissues of the forehead to bring back a more youthful contour to your forehead skin, upper eyelids and eyebrow. The result – a younger looking and more energetic you!

 What does Brow Lift Do?

Brow lift actually does the following as a result:

• Reduces or fades the wrinkle lines that are visibly found in the forehead including those that be seen on the bridge of the nose and between the eyes

• Improves the lines that develops between the eyebrows

• Elevates the sagging and drooping upper eyelids

• Makes the eyebrows in a more youthful and energetic position

 

When a Brow Lift is Needed?

Statistics show that most patients undergoing brow lifts are in the age bracket of 40 to 50. However, due to some hereditary factors, patients who are only on their 20’s and 30’s are also deciding to have the procedure. Commonly, the following are the causes why they are opted to have a brow lift.

• Having an excess skin or fatty tissue deposits found over the eyes

• Visible frown lines between the eyebrows at the top of the nose

• Horizontal creases/wrinkles across the forehead

• Sagging eyebrow position leading to a  tired and lousy look

 

Types of Brow Lifts

Generally, there are two types of methods used for brow lift:

a. Classic Lift. This lift is done by cutting the beginning at the level of the eats heading up around the headline. This commonly leaves a scar after the operation.

b. Endoscopic Lift. Anesthesia is first administered before the procedure. Incisions  are them made by the surgeon. Then, an endoscope is inserted to allow the surgeons to check the treatment on a screen which is connected to a thin tube. Excess skin is removed and sutures are then sealed.

 

Techniques Used in EyeBrow Lift

To understand more about brow lift, the following are the most common techniques done during the procedure:

a. Endoscopic forehead lift. In this technique, the incisions are made along the top of the scalp and temple. These incisions are hidden within the hair of the patient.

b. Open technique. The incisions made on this technique is across the top of the scalp, starting above the ears.

c. Limited incision technique. Incisions to be made are hidden in the temple. When it is done together with upper blepharoplasty, there will be incisions as well at the upper eyelids.
